I first came to know the Smith family as Brandon and I volunteer together for Dollars for Scholars, a local organization dear to my heart; that supports local students in pursuing education beyond their high school experience. Like myself, his wife, Shauna is a mother, wife, and entrepreneur. She is the owner of Roslyn’s Queen of Clean, a family-owned and operated cleaning and concierge business managing over 200 properties from Snoqualmie Pass to Leavenworth.

The family first reached out to my studio for senior pictures of their daughter Amaya and ultimately selected my most inclusive senior portrait package in addition to family portraits as well! Photographing Amaya was a joy. Not only is she a beautiful young woman, but she is amazingly accomplished as well. As a 2021 graduate of Cle Elum Roslyn High School she holds a 3.7 GPA, is class president, and is a member of both the golf and volleyball teams. In addition to sports, Amaya is a member of the choir and has been in band since the 6th grade where she plays the alto, tenor, and baritone saxophone. On top of all that’s mentioned, she also works as the office manager for the family business! To say she is remarkable would be an understatement and I can’t wait to watch her succeed as a student at Washington State University in Pullman, where she plans to student psychology in pursuit of becoming a youth therapist.

It was important to Amaya’s mom, Shauna, that Amaya had an amazing experience for her senior pictures. From arranging the hair and makeup services to multiple photography appointments we created the complete senior portrait experience for her. Not only was it a way to celebrate all that she has accomplished, it felt like giving back a little bit of normal. “Senior pictures were the only normal thing that she could have, and I wanted her to have some joy despite being a 2021 Senior.” – Shauna

The entire senior picture experience was wrapped up in an heirloom 12×12 album and a wall art trio highlighting Amaya. The family also chose to invest in framed wall art arrangements, a family portrait, and a 12×12 family album.

It’s worth any amount of money to not have to figure out what to do with these photos myself. The thought of receiving a disk or USB overwhelmed me – I wouldn’t know what to do with the photos!  I wanted Amaya to have amazing senior pictures – neither my husband nor I had that experience and I wanted to make sure that she did.
