Carly Brettmann recently relocated to Kittitas County for a new job, as the Kittitas County Director of Communications. This is a new position that was created by the Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners with a goal of enhancing their broad vision and goals for the county brand. This involves streamlining the methods and means of communication between county departments. As well as establishing clear, transparent messaging from the county to its residents.

In her new position, Carly realized it was the perfect time to update her business portraits with a local Ellensburg photographer. With over a decade in communication & advertising, she recognized the importance that photography plays in her field. As we photographed her around Ellensburg, it was important to me that her business portraits highlighted Carly’s approachable personality and  her professional expertise. I hope that they represent her well in her new role as Director of Communication!

Carly has 3 wonderful kids who attend school in Ellensburg. While her husband is a full time National Guard battalion commander in Yakima. He also runs a school house on Camp Murray near JBLM.

“As a military family, so often our circumstance is dictated by that career. But as a mom, I wanted my kids to see that creating my own career through those challenges is not only important, its completely possible.  On a personal note, I am so appreciative of the welcome embrace by this community. It has been incredibly refreshing to feel so welcomed.

Since moving to Ellensburg we have found so many things that we love. Namely, Winegars! What’s not to love about small batch hand crafted ice cream? We also love the farmers market and go every Saturday. Other highlights include family bike rides at Central Washington University, the library, the comic book store, and all of the wonderful parks!”
