Steve and Julia exchanged vows on a beautiful day in September on the shore of Lake Cle Elum. The couple recently purchased an A-frame in the woods next to the Lake as a vacation home. But this was so much more than just a house.

Julia recently lost her father, and purchasing the A-frame was made possible by his generosity. As a tribute to him they chose to be wed at the home that he made possible. They wanted his presence to be felt in the photos, and in the many family memories that will be created there in the years to come.

I met them at their property, where we took photos in front of the cabin and down by the lake where they exchanged their vows.

It’s such an intimate experience spending time with a bride and groom on the day of their elopement. I loved having the opportunity to be a part of their experience through more than just photography.  After we wrapped up photos at the cabin, I led them to one of my favorite nearby gems. A quiet spot overlooking Lake Cle Elum that is often missed by those who are not local to the area.

I’d like to think that one day when they bring their friends and family to their beautiful little A-Frame cabin, they’ll take them to that spot and share with them the memories of their special day.
