The Singer family first reached out to me in 2015 for a family portrait session. At that time Cole was just a young boy, who barely came up to my shoulders, and his high school career was still years away. Today Cole Singer is a three-sport varsity athlete, honor roll student, senior class vice president, football team captain, All-League First Team wide receiver, first-team cornerback, and first-team special teams punt returner. The list is endless for this Cle Elum Roslyn High School senior. Needless to say, he’s also surpassed shoulder height.

If there were ever a candidate for “All American Boy” Cole just might fit the bill. Not only does his lengthy list of accolades prove he is an exceptional athlete. He’s also a wonderful brother, friend, and member of his community. Who loves the idea of school, community, and involvement. 

Cole’s mom, Cheryl, says: “Cole is sensitive, compassionate. When he commits to something he is all in, whether that is sports, school, or relationships – he gives it everything. He is a good big brother and loves his family.”

There was no shortage of photographic ideas for his senior portraits. It would have been easy to just focus on the sports. Its something that came naturally to Cole, but while highlighting his athletic career is important there is so much more to a young person. I wanted to highlight Cole in a variety of settings that allowed his personality to shine. I loved that he chose a classic navy button-down for one set of his senior portraits. Not only did it feel like a small nod toward those 2015 photos. It also highlighted the fact that in addition to being an athlete, we also have a serious young man with a bright future ahead of him.

After graduation, Cole wants to continue to pursue his education while playing basketball or baseball at the college level. I have no doubt that he will find success where ever he goes! I’m so glad his parents chose to return to me in their search for senior photography in Cle Elum. There is no greater compliment than being able to document a family through the years as they change and grow.
