I specialize in timeless, fine art photography and my passion is combining traditional and lifestyle portraiture while photographing families, seniors, maternity and branding clients in Cle Elum, Washington and surrounding areas.
As a small business owner myself, I know that the Holiday Season is one of the most important times of year for Roslyn & Cle Elum small businesses. And, for our community! In a time when pressure to find the right present is high, shopping small businesses is a great way to find the perfect gift for a loved one. Whether you are looking for local artwork, gear for outdoor adventures, or a cute shacket for a friend, our small businesses have you covered. These are a small selection of the places you will find unique and thoughtful gifts that can make this season of gift giving even more joyful!
In my continuing effort to shop and support locals more often, I wanted to share with you a few of my favorite Roslyn and Cle Elum small businesses. I hope this list gives you some inspiration for when you’re checking off your holiday list in Upper County!
As you may know, I’ve expanded my business this year, and moved into the NWI Building in Roslyn (at 101 East Pennsylvania Ave.). My studio space isn’t just for photography, but also my dream boutique with a perfectly curated PNW vibe. From my own original framed wall pieces to shackets and custom gifts, there’s a little bit of fun for everyone to look at! Read about the other small businesses in our community and scroll to the end of the blog to see photos of the shop & some of my very own artwork from Upper Kittitas County.
If you haven’t heard… the Roslyn Theatre is re-opening! I couldn’t be any more excited, with the thought of evenings filled with movies and popcorn (gravy style, of course!). They just had their Warner Brothers application approved, and within a matter of weeks expect to be opening their doors for business. You can pre-purchase a gift card for the movie buff in your life.
The Garcia family first opened their Christmas tree stand in 2020, offering five types of Christmas trees (Natural Noble, Sheared Noble, Fraser Fir, Grand Fir and Douglas Fir) in addition to decorated and undecorated hand crafted wreaths. They also have Cedar mixed garlands up to 75 feet long! From three to fourteen feet tall, you are certain to find the perfect tree for your home. I am in love with the Noble Fir that my family picked up earlier this week!
Artist Tony Davey is the real star of the show at Fused in Roslyn. His beautiful pieces capture light and make for a stunning focal point in any room of your home, and he strives to create a fantastic guest experience. Give your favorite creative person a gift card to a glass class at Fused and be sure to pick up a custom ornament for your holiday tree while you’re there!
Cheers to a very spirited holiday season! Heritage Distilling is located in Roslyn, and is a premier craft distillery. It is the perfect spot to pick up something for yourself or for someone else – make sure to try their Sugar Plum Fairy cocktail and new Florescence Vodka!
At Basecamp Outfitters in Cle Elum you will find trustworthy gear for all of your outdoor adventures! From wool socks and boots to zero degree sleeping bags and tents. Skip the big box store and find your favorite Smart Wool, Outdoor Research, and Helly Hansen gear right here in town!
Black Sheep Home Goods is one of my favorite shops in Cle Elum! Owner Danielle Bricker has curated the most delightful shop with something for everyone: including holiday and home decor, wrapping paper and ornaments, clothing, and more. In addition, Danielle is a champion of the revitalization of downtown Cle Elum and supporter of many other small businesses. Open Fri-Sun from 10-6.
Three generations of Osmonovich bakers have kept the brick oven in continuous operation since 1906. Cle Elum Bakery not only offers fresh baked goods, they also offer a variety of gifts. Stop in for a cup of coffee or fresh donuts (my personal favorite is the chocolate maple bar!), and pick up a gift card, hat, or a puzzle.
I love stores that are always collecting new and exciting additions, like Gypsy and James in Roslyn! You’ll never find two pieces alike here. Amanda Goldie curates and creates unique furniture and art pieces that will delight the creative person on your list Christmas morning, or adorn your home with the perfect accent piece.
If you need a coffee, quick meal, or a treat to fuel your day of shopping in Roslyn, stop in at Lemon Thyme Macarons and Little Pangea. Everything I’ve had from both establishments is absolute magic and I love that we have such incredible, quality options to choose from! Located in Roslyn between the Roslyn Soap Company and the post office.
Check-in at Basecamp Books and Bites when you arrive in Roslyn. It is a quintessential bookstore filled with trail guides, children’s classic, and current novels. They carry essentials for those who love the outdoors, as well as PNW-centric tees, custom hydro flasks, hats, and unique gifts. Make a day of it! Plan your outdoor outing and grab lunch or dinner in the Speakeasy.
Abourezk & Co. Furniture Consignment is located across the hall from my shop, and has an eclectic mix of previously loved and new items. Owner Dawn Abourezk says, “We have so many pieces with personality, character, and soul, and I love connecting them with a new owner. It is all about finding things that spark joy!”. Open 11-3 Friday thru Monday.
The Jam Shop opened in Cle Elum in June of 2021. From scratch made jam and jellies to pie fillings to spicy mango taco sauce, they have it all. My personal favorite is the fiery peach jam spread over cream cheese served with crackers! Shop in person, or gift someone a “Jam of the Month” membership!
Corks is a warm and welcoming wine shop in Roslyn where Andrea greets everyone with her warm smile. She has a vast knowledge of wine varietals and sources both local and imported bottles. Corks is open Fridays and Saturdays, where you can gather around the outdoor fire pit and enjoy a beverage. Grab a few bottles for a gift this holiday season and a few for your own collection, too!
From the latest fashion trends to jewelry, gifts, home decor and more, you will find something for everyone at Mountain Joy! Located on 1st Street, this shop is truly one of Roslyn’s treasures.
Winning Foundations, located in Cle Elum, offers clinical skincare, body, and wellness services. For the holidays they are offering the Peppermint Express facial + pedicure, combined with a gift certificate for the No. 9 wine tasting (for two!) at Swiftwater Cellars. Stop by the lobby shop to pick up a luxurious robe, specialty moisturizer, or gift certificate for the person in your life who needs some extra pampering.
Walking into The Little Red Shop is like stepping into a treasure hunt. Nestled, over the river and through the woods, owner Julie Anderson carefully curates this sweet little shop for home and baby in South Cle Elum. Within its cozy walls you will find a variety of fun gifts, vintage goods, and home decor.
Experiences are one of my favorite gifts to give and receive! Glen and his staff at Ride Roslyn offer fat bike and snowshoe rentals and have a up to date, year-round trail information. They offer guided tours or ride at your leisure throughout the winter. As bicycle enthusiasts, they will point you in the direction for miles of groomed trails.
And if you’re looking for an extra special gift for your outdoor enthusiast – they offer custom bicycles for all ages. Bonus: They are a full-service bike shop too!
Roslyn Soap Co. is the sweetest little shop in all of Roslyn! Located in the heart of downtown, just next to the post office, you’ll find Robin Thorne’s cute shop featuring handmade soaps, scrubs, and bath bombs. Grab something to pamper yourself or someone else!
ShannDee’s Boutique was created to provide a one stop shopping solution. Gifts, holiday pajamas, children’s toys, home decor, clothing, floral arrangements, and so much more. ShannDee’s in located in Roslyn in the NWI building.
Located next to Lemon Thyme Macaron and the Roslyn Soap Co., Roslyn Style Gifts sells handmade fair trade products from women’s groups all over the world. Roslyn Style Gifts is a pop up for Ten Thousand Villages, the nation’s largest fair trade retailer. Owner Debi Goldman personally sources every item and would love to tell you about who made your gift!
As a champion for small businesses and in the Roslyn & Cle Elum community, too, it’s time I share some examples of gifts and artwork from my shop! Below are some of my available framed canvas artwork pieces, taken in Upper Kittitas County, and available in a variety of sizes. Come by and I will give you a tour!
