If you have been following the story of Brittni and Joe Kelleher, you will know that the birth of their daughter Logan Gray was nothing short of a miracle. From conception through delivery, Miss Logan has been defying the odds every minute of her existence. So imagine the relief, the love, and the exuberant joy that Brittni and Joe’s tribe felt on March 22nd, 2021 when this sweet girl made her arrival at 36 weeks on the dot. I was absolutely thrilled to meet up with Brittni and Joe again to document their Ellensburg family photo session. What better way to start the day than with sweet little baby snuggles and catching up with the new parents on how the journey has been!

The birth of any baby is an even mixture of excitement and fear, but when you have leukemia and your baby was exposed to chemotherapy during that process – the fear definitely plays a central role. Yet, despite everything, Miss Logan continues to defy all odds over and over again. She came into the world at 12:25 am, 5lbs 11ozs and 19.25 inches long – and every single inch of her was happy, healthy, and thriving. 

“The anxiety was immediately lifted as soon as I saw her and knew that she was healthy. I had been so worried about her exposure to chemo and leukemia, and yet when she arrived she was perfect.
She is an easy baby – she only cries if she is hungry. She is a great sleeper and a happy baby.”

It’s been nearly six weeks since Logan arrived and Brittni and Joe’s family and friends have been more supportive and steadfast than ever. Thanks to the generosity of his coworkers, Joe has been able to be home with Logan and Brittni on extended paternity leave. As for Brittni, she is soaking up every minute of sweet baby snuggles while continuing her treatment for Leukemia. But that hasnt stopped her from missing her students and looking forward to teaching again in the fall.
