I specialize in timeless, fine art photography and my passion is combining traditional and lifestyle portraiture while photographing families, seniors, maternity and branding clients in Cle Elum, Washington and surrounding areas.
Chloe is a senior at Cle Elum Roslyn High School, class of 2019. She came to me to for her senior portraits and she was so much fun to work with. I loved her sense of style and instantly knew she needed an urban, edgy vibe for at least some of her portraits. For her senior photos, we spent time in Cle Elum and Roslyn photographing at a variety of locations. Which made me think about how you can go about choosing your senior portrait location with these three helpful tips!
If you like to swim, you’ll head to the pool. If working out is more your thing, you’ll go to the gym, or maybe the great outdoors for a cross-country hike. Or, if you’re like Chloe books might be more your speed! She’s an avid reader so naturally, a cool vintage couch and Harry Potter were perfect for incorporating into her senior photos. Where do you go when you do what you love? Think about how we can incorporate your hobbies into your senior portrait location!
Or maybe you’re a bit of both! Chloe is super into Art and Fashion, which goes well with the downtown vibe. Sometimes, the most unexpected places can be perfect for highlighting your style. Some of her photos took place right in front of my studio against a great brick wall. We also hit up the are behind Basecamp Books and Bites in Roslyn, and we found an abandoned car near the Yakima River in Cle Elum. There are no shortage of beautiful outdoor landscapes in the Pacific Northwest so a gorgeous open field is always a great option too.
If you play football, you might want to do your senior portraits at the high school stadium. Or if you are on track, it might be cool to create some portraits of you at the starting line. If you know you want to do something sports-related during your senior portrait session, but you’re not particular about the location, we can definitely work that into your senior portrait session! But maybe your sport isn’t as traditional. Chloe is a longboard enthusiast! It made sense to photograph her with her longboard in a more urban setting where she regularly rides.
