If there are two individuals who thoroughly embody the spirit of the Central Cascades, it’s Lisa and Jared Bronkema. Both educators, they moved to Cle Elum nearly a decade ago and quickly ingrained themselves in our community. Lisa is an outstanding educator and has taught both of my kids. She also has a great sense of humor and is the type of person you just want to be friends with! Jared is a man of few words, and while I could tell he would rather be playing the guitar or tending to the farm, he put up with having his photo taken with grace and humor.

For the Bronkema’s, home truly is where the heart is, which meant it just made sense to give them an at-home family photo session. Their farmstead home near the Teanaway is teeming with life including horses, chickens, 3 cats, a dog, a goat, and two lively boys. Their oldest son, Theo is 8 and their youngest son, Augie, is 5. In addition to educators, they’re both creators at heart. Whether it is gardening, canning, or building their chicken coop. They’re also avid fishermen at Kiwanis pond and Lake Cooper.

Between the gorgeous scenery and their American-west way of life, there were endless photo opportunities for this young family. For this session, Lisa really wanted to treat herself as a mom – they were their first family photos! After a gorgeous at-home family photo session we created a 12×12 heirloom album of their portraits in addition to a 30×48 canvas print of the family for their walls.
