I last photographed the Kelly family in 2019. They were on the cusp of major changes with their youngest child starting high school and their eldest in her second year of college. For this occasion, I was meeting up with their middle child to capture his senior photos in Cle Elum.  Jake Kelly is nearing the end of his journey at Cle Elum High School and these photos were meant to reflect all he has accomplished in the last 18 years. Most notably, his career as a varsity athlete and valedictorian of the Class of 2021..

According to his mom, Wendie: “Jake started playing basketball in kindergarten. His dad was always involved either as an assistant coach or head coach. I love Jake’s tenacity on the court, that he gives 100% all the time, and that basketball is a shared passion that brings our family together.  His senior photos in Cle Elum show who he is and his personality, not only as a senior but at this very interesting time in our lives in 2020/2021.”

In addition to being a varsity basketball player, he is also a varsity baseball player and avid fisherman. We celebrated his many interests during the photo session by hitting up some of his local hangouts around Cle Elum and Roslyn. The highlight of every athlete’s session is always the sports photos, especially for the guys. It’s a chance for them to relax in their element and create photos that highlight their time as an athlete.

When Jake’s not hitting the books, in the field, or on the court, he works for the family business – All Season’s Vacation Rentals. There he is responsible for maintaining hot tubs, removing snow, grounds keeping, garbage removal, and more. After high school, Jake has committed to playing basketball at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon, where he will pursue a degree in sports medicine or physical therapy.
