If you have found yourself on this page, it’s likely that you’ve inquired about booking a portrait session with me.  The very first step in our process is a pre-consultation at my Cle Elum photography studio.  Come on in, have some coffee, and let’s plan!  If you are not available to meet in person before your session, we can schedule a remote meeting.  This is where half of the fun (and preparation!) of your photography experience takes place.   It’s also one of the most important aspects of our work together.

Just like we wouldn’t build a home without blueprints or purchase a car without thinking about how it fits our family, we wouldn’t want to go into a portrait session without thinking about the end result in mind. From location to outfit selection, every detail is important.  I want to work together so that you feel confident that your session will be the perfect fit for your family.

Is your family looking for a single, large wall piece or a cluster of images? Maybe you prefer albums for the coffee table and you want to add a smaller album for the grandparents. Is your aesthetic traditional or modern? These design choices will help dictate the best medium (metal, mounted print, or canvas, and framed or not framed, etc) that fit your home.

Believe it or not, even your decor style and size of your walls matter. When it comes to displaying heirloom artwork in your home, it’s important to find the appropriate size for your space.  If you live near my Cle Elum photography studio, I can visit your home to get a better idea of the custom fine art images that will fit your style and space, or if you live farther away, we can arrange a remote design consultation.  I also have sample artwork in a variety of styles and sizes for you to see and touch.

This is also a great chance for us to get to know each other better.  I want to know about your children’s personalities.  Are they shy or outgoing?  Do they love to play in the dirt and climb trees or are they more likely to get all dressed up and play make-believe?  Are they about to go off to college or start junior high? I want to know your family so that when you look at your heirloom artwork decades from now, we will have captured the true essence of who your family was in that moment in time.
